The Frye Festival, named after world-renown literary critic and Moncton native Northrop Frye, is the largest literary event in Atlantic Canada.

What can you expect to find at this bilingual celebration of books, ideas, and imagination?

Festival highlights include:

  • In-Conversation Events: Listen to authors as they dive into their most recent works. New: Lunch-In-Conversation events pair delicious foods and nourishing books!
  • Readings: Let yourself be carried away by the voices of established and emerging authors.
  • Literary Performances: Words leap off the page and onto the stage in these events, featuring readings, performances, music, and more!
  • Special Events: Walks, trivia, exhibit opening: discover the kaleidoscopic possibilities of words in these out-of-the-box events!
  • Youth Program: Discover the Frye Festival's youth and family activities! The Youth Program is offered completely free of charge, and includes storytime events, readings, an exhibit featuring youth artworks, the Provincial Creative Writing Contest Recital, and KidsFest - Moncton's biggest word party for children ages 2 to 10!
